Dietetic Consultation

with Lois Tirrell BSc RD

A dietetic consultation will be informative and non-judgemental. A holistic approach aiming to educate and support you to achieve your optimum state of health through diet and nutrition.

Your consultations will consist of a detailed nutritional assessment. This will include taking your anthropometric measurements if relevant, discussing your clinical signs and symptoms, reviewing your health, medical, and social history, and conducting a detailed dietary assessment. You will then be provided with dietary advice, information and reading material relevant to your nutritional issue.  We will then work together to formulate a realistic and achievable plan that will set you in the direction of achieving your pre-determined goals and optimise your nutritional status and overall well-being.

How do I know if a dietitian is the right professional for me?
Before you book a consultation our Dietitian will talk to you about your dietary related issue and what you would ideally like to get out of the consultation to ensure this is the right treatment for you.
To organise this please call or email or make a visit to The Yoga Shed

Reflexology promotes beneficial effects on the whole body. It promotes a calming effect on the nervous system leaving us with a sense of deep relaxation and balance. Regular reflexology treatments can encourage good health, ease pain, help our body to prevent disease and ultimately improve our quality of life.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy used to bring about balance to our whole body, to reduce stress, tension and anxiety, to promote good sleep, improve mood and sense of well-being and to help boost our immune system.
Reflex points on the feet, or hands, correspond directly to organs and systems of the body. By stimulating these specific reflex points, a beneficial response can be produced within the corresponding part of the body.

Pregnancy Reflexology

with Claire Winterbourne

Maternity reflexology aims to optimise your physical and emotional health, and we will work through specific reflex points on your feet or hands to help you feel balanced and to help prepare your body and mind for your birth.

Reflexology can be used safely throughout pregnancy for most women and two studies have shown that reflexology in pregnancy significantly reduced pain during labour and even reduced the length of the labour. It is also shown to help improve quality of sleep in pre and post-natal women.

Treatments usually last about an hour, but please allow a little more time for your first visit as we will need some information about your medical history. We might also discuss some aspects of your lifestyle for me to gain a more holistic view so that I can give you the best treatment possible and tailor what I do to your individual need.

All of your details will be treated with complete confidentiality.

Your treatment will be given on a comfortable couch which supports your body completely whilst you relax during your treatment. You only need to take off your shoes, and socks, for a reflexology treatment.

Yoga Therapy

with Alex Flatman
Wednesday evenings

Minded yoga therapy is a holistic therapeutic treatment for stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD. The approach brings together yoga postures, breathing practices, mindfulness meditation, relaxation and psychological support to enhance wellbeing, rebalance the nervous system and develop the ability to regulate mood and emotions.

Working one-to-one, we will create a tailored programme to support each client’s individual needs. We will explore which postures are useful for energising and which are useful for bringing calm to your system. By learning how to be with the variety of sensations in the body you simultaneously develop the ability to be with challenging emotions in a more grounded and gentle way.

Techniques are grounded in both modern medical and scientific understanding of the body and brain as well as ancient Yogic wisdom, encouraging integration of mind, body and spirit. Current research informs us that a comprehensive programme that involves both the body and mind is the most effective way to approach psychological health.
